Tomás Saraceno – Aria

The exhibition set up at Palazzo Strozzi in February, and paused in recent weeks, reopens from 1 June to 1 November 2020, to amaze used and new visitors. This is Aria by Tomás Saraceno, a visionary and ingenious artist who, through unprecedented creativity, combines art, natural sciences and social dimension.

The exhibition, thanks to a path of immersive works and participatory experiences between the courtyard and the Noble Floor of the building, invites the audience to change the focus of observation and judgment on reality. Natural but not anthropomorphic elements, such as plants, spiders and dust become the protagonists of the installations and metaphors of the eternal movement of the universe.

The artist proposes a new, strong interweaving between the Renaissance - synonymous with Florence par excellence - and contemporary age: from “man at the centre of the world” to the idea of “man as an integral part of the universe”, where anyone should seek constant harmony.

The exhibition is open every day from 2 pm to 8 pm, Thursday from 2 pm to 11 pm.
